Do you believe in manifestation?
I have a lifelong friend who spent at least 20 years of her life raising potbellied pigs. She acquired all of them as piglets and did a beautiful job raising them until every single one of them reached their natural passing. One day, when she looked into the barn stall at her last elderly pig, which was now 14 years old and at his end, she thought, “What am I going to do now?” All these years she had a routine of taking care of them and was in her “comfort zone.” I visited her this past week and discovered that she is involved with driving horses in an event which is called Combined Driving Event (CDE). She and her husband has invested money into this sport and has acquired 2 driving horses, a carriage, a trailer, and all the accessories that go with it.
The competition courses are segmented into 3 courses or phases
1) Dressage- (a French term, most commonly translated to mean “training”) is a path and destination of competitive horse training, with competitions held at all levels from amateur to the Olympics. Its fundamental purpose is to develop, through standardized progressive training methods, a horse’s natural athletic ability and willingness to perform, thereby maximizing its potential as a riding horse.
2) Marathon-Shows the endurance of the horse and
3) Cones-Proves the remaining agility of the horse after the previous 2 events.
Some of the purposes of the sport is competition, status, control, and a way to challenge yourself and your horse. What is the ultimate win? A ribbon. There are no cash awards. There are 2 categories, amateur and professional and the differentiation between the two is the amount of money and time invested.
When I visited her I asked, “How did you get into this? She said, “It just happened.” I’m here to tell you that is not the case. Things don’t just happen. The truth is she knew her piggies would be gone and her mind told her she needed to fill the void. She started investigating other possible animals to replace them. Her husband seemed to take a fondness to miniature donkeys. She visited a veterinarian friend and inquired about owning donkeys. Her friend asked, “What are you planning to with them?” She answered, “I don’t know. Maybe have them pull a carriage?” Her friend said have you ever thought about driving horses? Do you want to try it? In less than a half hour she found herself behind the reigns of a driving horse which she called, “The Golden Pony.” She didn’t know it at the time, but her instant attraction to the horse planted the seed to “someday” own that horse. The rest is history. She actually manifested that horse being in her barn, and it wasn’t until a year and half later that the golden pony was hers. Today she is active in the CDA, and it didn’t “just happen.” This is manifestation at its finest.
Our thoughts manifest all the time. Most people are unaware of it. They summarize events as “it just happened” or “it was just a coincidence.” If you have heard about manifestation (it’s a part of metaphysics), then it might be time to do some research. If you haven’t, again, it will be to your benefit to find out for yourself the tremendous potential you have with your thoughts.
There are hundreds of articles about manifestation, and it is up to you to make an educated decision as to what you believe!
Here is a post I commented on May 22, 2011 about a metaphysical manifestation of a black eye. Some of you may remember this article…
Hi John,
This is a fascinating story! I believe you! Isn’t life strange? I haven’t had your experience of a black eye, but you have got me wondering about “bruises” I would get once in a while, such as on my leg or arm and wondering where they came from because I didn’t experience any hits or falls.
The manifestation of thought from the mind to reality is a concept I have recently been introduced to. I attended the Unstoppable Entrepreneur Event in San Diego and met a young man with the name of “Trinity.” He lives in Nicaragua and actually traveled from his Nicaraguan town to Mexico and to San Diego to attend the UI event.
He explained to us that he left Nicaragua without money or transportation but was able to make it to the event simply by the power of thought and manifesting rides and food along the way! He actually made it to the event and returned to Nicaragua using the same method. As he explained his experience, people would ask questions and he would say, I would think and concentrate that I need a ride, and a ride would show up! The whole trip was like that and he actually arrived in San Diego on time. This is an amazing example of manifestation.
Okay, so now you can say I sound like a fruitcake too, but I’m convinced. Your story reinforces the “Trinity” story.
The mind is a powerful tool and if we can recognize it, then we can bask in its positive gifts.
It’s so nice that you met your life partner. Instinctively you knew she would become your wife, and she did!

Hi Raena ~ As you may know I am passionate about travel and will soon be traveling to Greece and Scotland. I’m thinking I may have the beginnings of a manifestation of my own in that I was recently introduced to a wonderful opportunity that will allow me to travel even more. And one of the things that I have created affirmations about is that I will be able to travel in style. It seems that this opportunity will afford me that and soon.
Great Post!

Hi Jim,
I think your passion for travel is awesome. If any of our members have not visited your blog to see the gorgeous pictures, they need to! I really believe your manifestations will come to pass and you will get to travel more! It will be interesting to watch it unfold!

Raena,
You are so right on about manifestation. In my upcoming audio series, I talk a great deal about visualization, imagining what you truly want to have or be or become. The mind does not differentiate between what is physical reality and what we are visualizing, but once we create a clear and definite picture of what we want, the universe seems to conspire to present us with opportunities to attain it. The first step is to decide what you truly want. And then to trust and to be open to the possibilities and potentials that are all around you. I really enjoyed this post. I used to think of pigs as ugly, but lately they appear cuter – just one of God’s creations.

Hi Dr. Erica,
You made a very important point. “The mind does not differentiate between what is physical reality and what we are visualizing, but once we create a clear and definite picture of what we want, the universe seems to conspire to present us with opportunities to attain it.” I didnt’ mean to steal your fire, but you summarized it beautifully!

Enjoyed your article very much Raena – it made me reflect on a few experiences I’ve had with manifestation and it made me realize how far away from that thinking that I’ve grown. Time to revisit it – thanks for the inspiration!

I absolutely love these stories, Raena. I especially love how the man from Nicaragua literally manifested his way to San Diego and then back home with nothing more than the amazing power of his own mind. Brilliant and inspiring.
This is complete proof that the true formula to success in anything and everything is 99.9% Thought and .1% How.
Thanks,

Hi David,
Yes it is hard to believe that he did that. By the way, he returned home the same way! Anything is possible!

Hi Raena, I love these stories, It’s very inspirational and as you said “anything is possible” is hard to believe but it happened. I love it. it inspired me.

Thanks Brian,
I am glad you liked it. It is important to keep that quote, “anything is possible” in your thoughts at all times. Especially in diverse times because it will give you hope when times seem (perception only) to get difficult.

Wonderful story. It’s helped me to understand some of the recent changes taking place in my life. After reading your story I took a moment to reflect on them. You so very right they did not “just happen”. Even though I felt at the time they did.
Thanks so much for opening my eyes.
August 27, 2011 at 6:24 pm
Hi Debi,
It seems to feel like things “just happen” but they don’t. I don’t think most people realize the power of their thoughts. It is fascinating to research this subject of “manifestation.” The more I learn, the more interesting it becomes. I’m certainly not an expert. I think it is fun to share my personal experiences and learn from them. By sharing, I can help others come to realizations about how their thoughts will design their lives, not just experience “stand alone” occurrences.

I so totally agree with you. I have a daily practice of affirmations, mind movies and visualization that has helped my desires manifest. When I first heard of this practice, I was not at all convinced it would work. I was quite the skeptic. But I agreed to give it a try, and I am loving the results. I have been visualizing meeting Latino women and set my intention one day to connect with at least one lady that day. The first place I went, and the first person I spoke with at that place was a lady that had just moved here from Peurto Rico!
August 27, 2011 at 6:36 pm
Hi Joanne,
I too am a firm believer in visual boards. I have created several in my life and lo and behold! It is amazing how dreams, affirmations, and visualizations will materialize into your reality. You ask the right questions, and your mind will look for results. You ask the wrong questions and your mind will look for the results. Your end result will be what you are focusing on. Your mind does not differentiate the “dream” or “the vision.” It seeks to find the answer. So many times we are presented with “an open door” or “an opportunity” and we don’t know that it is a solution. Most people simply look at these “weird occurrences as coincidence. Here is a story I told someone a couple of days ago with reference to me and my daughter looking for a “place to roost.”
My daughter and I were driving around looking for this house today and while we were looking, I got a call from an internet friend. I visit his blog every week but I’ve never talked to him on the phone but I recognized his voice. Anyway I told him my daughter and I were investigating 3 possible rentals and it would be better if we could talk later becasue my daughter and I were in the middle of trying to locate the first house. The last thing he said is, “I’ll give you something positive to think about. One of the three houses you look at today will be your dream house.” We spent a couple of hours traveling from one possible house to another. By the third house I realized I had already found my awesome dream house! I called the owner back and gave him my deposit. When I told my brother the story, he said, “That’s just a coincidence.” I DON’T THINK SO!

Hello Raena
Truly, “Thoughts are things” and Powerful Thing at that” are the opening words Napoleon Hill wrote in Think and Grow Rich. Your stories are like the one of Edwin C. Barnes desire to become an associate of the great inventor Edison. The story of Trinity reminds us that our only limitations are our thoughts.

Hi Raena,
great stories of manifestation. You are so right nothing ‘just happens’ it is our thoughts and vibrations which attract things, people and circumstances.
Getting clear on what we want and focusing on it most of the time will help the manifestation.
I never heard of the term ‘potbellied’ pigs, sounds cute. Are they big or small ones?
Thank you for sharing these stories.
Cheers,
Yorinda
August 27, 2011 at 6:16 pm
Hi Yorinda,
It seems that you understand the concept. It is so funny sometimes because we may manifest things without knowing it. For example I just moved to a new town with my oldest daughter. She is attending college and I am with her temporarily. Eight years ago, my youngest daughter and I spent 8 days in this area because at that time our family was looking at the possibility of moving to the area and renting a home, at least for a while. My youngest and I were the “scouts” to check out the area. During our visit, we found a rental that was owned by a family who owned 2 hedgehogs as pets. My daughter had a kick out of playing with them. I videotaped her with them because I thought it cute and really didn’t give it another thought until now.
Given that little historical moment that occurred eight years ago, at this moment I’m actually in the same town, however I am with my oldest daughter. This “repeat occurrence” started with a video game logo labeled hedgehog production or something that when her friends were playing PlayStation the first day I arrived. Then yesterday she was watching YouTube videos. She was watching funny videos of dogs and cats which lead to funny videos of hedgehog pets. They are interesting little exotic animals. They curl up in a ball when they are afraid or sleeping, so they are humorous to watch. Afterward, last night we went to the local fair and there was a booth with candle statues made out of beeswax. Of course there were hedgehog figurines. Now I’m thinking, what is up with the hedge hogs? Did I manifest them? If anyone has any ideas about this, let me know!
Potbellied pigs are from Viet Nam and the name comes from their chubby little bellies that are round and resemble a potbellied stove. They are one of many “miniature” varieties of swine. A full grown potbellied pig will reach about 230 pounds after 3 years of age. That is considered “miniature” if you compare that weight of a full grown “regular pig” which can grow up to 1800 to 2500 pounds. Everything is relative. Thanks Yorinda!

Hedge hogs fascinating creatures. Are the ‘hogs’?
I like the synchronicity of things. I recently came across a youtube video of someone giving a hedge hog a bath.
My oldest son always wanted a hedge hog as a pet. Since that did not happen he created a hedge hog hairstyle.
We have Kune Kune pigs here in New Zealand which sound like the potbellied variety. Real characters.
Thanks for sharing your story.
Cheers,
Yorinda

Hi Yorinda,
I am laughing because I saw the same video. It was very funny watching the hedge hog floating on her back. I’m guessing your little guy is about 14 years old? I am fond of Kune Kune pigs and they are a miniature variety of pigs such as potbellied pigs. They mature a little bigger and come in magnificent colors of browns, blacks, and greys. They are known for their “clown-like” personalities. They are generally very docile and a kick to watch! After the potbellied pigs subsided in popularity, several breeders imported the Kune Kune’s from New Zealand! I also have a friend who decided to purchase one to add a little variety to her potbellied pig herd. Thanks for coming by.

Hi Raena,
Thanks for this great post and inspiring story of Trinity.
The mind is truly a powerful tool and if we unlock that power and tap into it, great things can be accomplished.
I agree that our thoughts don’t usually just happen, there is usually a greater force at work when these instances manifest.
We are what we think, so we must always try to have positive thoughts.
You must decide exactly what you want and have clarity and if you do your positive self talk and affirmations, you might be surprised at what happens.
Keep inspiring us,
Marc
August 28, 2011 at 4:30 pm
Hi Marc,
I agree. The difficult part sometimes is continuously having positive thoughts. Again, as we write our articles about personal development and positive attitudes, sometimes life gets pretty tough and it is so easy to question and complain. It doesn’t take a lot of thought to that!
We choose to do the best we can. We choose to move forward the best we can. We choose to become clear of what we want. As you said, “You might be surprised at what happens.”

Hi Raena Lynn,
Wonderful stories… I love them all! I always thought little potbellied pigs were just that…tiny with a big tummy… and was disappointed when I discovered they actually did not remain as miniature piglets.
You’re positively correct, nothing is ever by chance and we manifest our own reality. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and we have so much to learn whether it’s considered a positive or negative experience. However, even what may be considered a negative happening at the time is really a positive occurrence when we seize the opportunity to learn and grow from it!
I have a couple of friends who, like Trinity from Nicaragua, manifest exactly what they need or desire. It is fascinating to be able to manifest an entire journey; though, I get pretty excited just being able to manifest a parking spot when I need one (using my built-in visual board)!
Thanks for sharing your inspiring stories!
August 28, 2011 at 4:11 pm
Hi Loren,
Thanks for your thoughts and support. You made an very important statement, “However, even what may be considered a negative happening at the time is really a positive occurrence when we seize the opportunity to learn and grow from it!” First we have to have awareness that this is a true statement. Second, we must have the clarity and strength accept that the negative is the positive in disguise. It seems easy, yet when we are faced with challenges in reality, it takes strength and adherence to get through. When we do, as you stated, our reward is a positive occurrence.

Hi Raena,
I use manifestation all of the time in my acupuncture practice and it works all the time. I keep the thought that I need new patients and the phone rings or I get an email and a new patient appears. Now this doesn’t happen without me preparing myself but the more I relax and not worry the better is seems to work.

Great story Raena,
I love stories about a change of life. There is something magical when a person reaches the end of one segment of their life and something unexpected leads to totally new challenges and opportunities.
I agree that it seems like the mind, when it has a chance to prepare for the next phase will start seeking. The challenge is usually to flow with it and let that new thing in

Hi Paul,

I so enjoyed reading this post Raena. This is how I live. Oh I’ve been called a nutty person, but it is Truth to me. In fact, I named my trusty old off line business “Mind over Matter.” This is because I know the power of the mind and what it can manifest. Things just don’t happen, we make things happen by our deep thoughts. When we want something, it is always good to get into that relaxed state of mind, say affirmations of the here and now (ex: If you want to loose ten pounds, you say to your self, “I am so grateful I lost 10 pounds) The third part is to make a little movie in your head (using the above example) of how you FEEL about the loss of 10 pounds) It is good to go back to a moment of your life when you accomplished something that made you feel good and bring that feeling up to associate it with your mind movie)
Thanks so much for getting people to THINK! LOL We need to think positively. I enjoyed the story. Thanks again, Donna

Hi Donna,
It is so refreshing to read your commentaries. I love the idea of “Mind over Matter.” That is clever. It is obvious that you really understand the power of the subconscious mind. This article turned out to reveal a lot of wonderful discoveries of my fellow colleagues! I had no idea that so many people recognize manifestations. Love your post. When I first started manifesting, there here was some frustration, stumbling, falling and failure. And then one day it just clicked. I talk to so many people who try as hard as they can to get it right and…well, that is their first problem (the TRY part!) I have it to be really so much easier than I thought once I understood a few key elements to my manifesting success.
I think that the biggest mistake most people make with manifesting is throwing in the towel when what they want doesn’t materialize immediately. It does not work like that:) It just has to be done regularly like clockwork. When you do that ONE thing, hold on to your hat–because some really incredible, almost magical, things will start to happen in your life!
September 7, 2011 at 5:59 am

Raena, manifesting things into being. This is a visualization result when mastered. This is the core of everything being as it is.
Thought comes and then shaping as you will. It all is manifested into physical being. This visualization skill is something that was instilled in me many years ago, when I was a young man. I made this my lifestyle and teach it often.
Once you believe and put it to practice. It become part of your daily living. You live it. Then you see it all around you. It is simply amazing.
Raena, I must visit your site more often. We share the same beliefs and ethical practices. I thank you for awakening my passions. Please, continue to inspire all your readers and I.

I am glad you shared the story of your friend.. It helps me explain to others, that although they “think” it just happened it really didn’t. I hear the line “it was meant to be” all to often… To me that is a cop out If that person had intentions of what they wanted in their mind and focused on that they would get it, just like the man you say traveled to San Diego. Most of of focus on what we don’t want, and voila, that is what we get! We spend more time moaning about not getting what we want rather than feeling good about what we want to manifest!
September 12, 2011 at 1:45 pm
There can’t be many people who have “things” happen which they can’t account for. Maybe it is their subconscious mind manifesting what it know their conscious requires.
I have tried to manifest major things but they haven’t appeared to me yet but one thing I can always to is park my car right outside wherever I want to go. People are astounded when I do just that outside a London West End Theatre. I believe I will get a space and, sure enough, as I drive up, someone pulls out of a spot and drives away.

Hi Raena,
As I always mention, I love manifesting stories.
I truly believe that if there is something we are wanting to manifest but are not succeeding, look to what beliefs are standing in the way. What is so great about beliefs is that you can change them, and choose those that suit you and are aligned to your visions and goals. Doing so attracts your goals to you in a natural and effortless way. I remember when I changed one limiting belief I had identified around money from ‘Money is hard to obtain’ to ‘Money loves me’, and my financial reality radically transformed!

Keep on dreaming is not bad since you express the imaginary vision that shows on your eyes and tells on your mind, but applying or converting it to reality will be more possible if you strive so hard to make all this things possible. There are people who always dream and dream but in the reality life, he/she has no plan on when or where to start it.

Hi Janice,
Yes we can have our dreams, but there has to be a plan. People give up when their dreams do not come true and they don’t realize they are the ones that caused them not to happen!
