Success Marketing Table Formula?

What is The Success Marketing Table Formula?

Are you pursuing internet marketing with the goal to create at least financial independence to multi-figure incomes ranging from 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 figures? I think you get the point. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and he asked me what I do for a living. I mentioned internet marketing and he made a comment about how he and his girlfriend tried online marketing a few years ago and failed. They had paid someone thousands of dollars to set up a web site to sell survival products such as survival tools, food storage, solar products, and camping equipment. It failed miserably. After asking him a few questions I realized that there are many issues which led to their failure.

First, they didn’t have an understanding of target marketing.

Second, they didn’t understand the amount of exposure and consistency needed in advertising to acquire actual sales.

Third, in order to create a realistic income of financial independence, they were short 3 legs of what I call “The Success Marketing Table Formula.”

There are many ways to create income online. Some are more effective than others. I think many internet marketers have heard of “residual income.” The vision as we step into the world of online marketing is usually signing up for an affiliate company as a distributor, receiving their marketing tools package, promoting their product, and thinking all the marketing tasks will eventually be set up  on autopilot and the checks start rolling in. I’m sorry to be the messenger of bad news, but that is so far from reality.

There are 4 ways you MUST create an income in order to realistically become, as I stated earlier, “financially independent to create at least financial independence to multi-figure incomes ranging from 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 figures.” I call it “The Success Marketing Table Formula” because each category represents one leg of a four legged table. The graphic is easy to imagine when one leg is missing. All four  create stability and a strong foundation:

1.      Product Income

2.      Residual Income

3.      Leveraged Income

4.      Leveraged Residual Income

Going back to my couple who set up a website to sell products, they started a possible income stream in one category, with nothing in the other three. If you are the CEO of one particular company, then this information probably does not pertain to you. This is for the “average”internet marketer pursuing and developing their business careers with the hope to leave their present “job” and succeed in an internet based business.

When I heard this information, I sat and down and analyzed my activities and income making pursuits in the world of internet marketing. I realized that I have my fingers in all four areas and I have created cash flow from each area. My point is if you are promoting one company that is one fourth of what you need to consider as part of your overall activity. It also depends upon how your company is structured. Vision the table. If you are short  a couple of legs you may want to consider adding other promotions to your business. I will be happy to share what programs have been successful.

  1. Raena,

Very useful image. That makes it so clear that only one leg of the table is not enough to build a substantial business. Diane Hochmann is truly a role model in this online industry. Thanks for sharing the link to hear her talk.

    Hi Raena,

Thanks for sharing this post and the link to Diane’s webinar.
She is certainly someone to admire and learn from.

We always want to be mentored by those who have achieved success and Diane certainly has.

Excellent imagery that is created by the “The Success Marketing Table Formula”
Like any solid structure, if it is to sustain you must have a solid foundation and support.

Balance in business and in life is also critical and as you stated, if one leg is missing of the 4, the table will not continue to stand.

So, you must have a solid, sustainable and balanced approach in building your business properly from the beginning.

    Keep inspiring us,
    Marc

      Hi Marc,

Recently I was explaining to a fellow marketer the importance of these 4 “legs” absolutely essential for creating financial success. The four are:

      1. Product Income

      2. Residual Income

      3. Leveraged Income

      4. Leveraged Residual Income

I explained to him how it isn’t going to happen without all four streams and this is very serious business when it comes to internet marketing. I want to note that product income means your own product. Second, there are too many internet marketers out there with missing “legs.”

  3. …I realized that there were a lot of issues which led to failure…

The lessons of the dot-com (dot-gone?) bust of the millenial turn are still lost on so many. There is no magic bullet, only hard work and supportive understanding as you state here and as provided by the Webinars to which you refer.
Many thanks, Ms. Lynn, for being active in helping the myriad unsuspecting that could fail to realize having start-up capital is not enough to ensure success in the field of eCommerce; as you say, there is ever so much more. By shedding your beacon of understanding, perhaps there will be less stories of non-success as you relate here. Yours is a cause both charitable and selfless. Keep up the great work!

      Hi Gregory,

Welcome to my blog! Are you a member of TSA? I have a suspicion you might be after visiting your web site. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by. You are correct in saying that many people think that investing capital is the way to ensure success. It reminds me of the saying, “It takes money to make money.” I don’t agree at all. Yes start up capital is needed, but it does not guarantee success. In the world of internet marketing you have to have:

      1. Product Income

      2. Residual Income

      3. Leveraged Income

      4. Leveraged Residual Income

My goals include the continued development of all 4 areas. I really believe that marketers need to take this to heart. It is serious business and I see so many marketers missing the “legs” they need to succeed financially.

  4. As usual a lot of great information in your article Raena. I like the table analogy – that really makes a lot of sense, and makes it much easier to picture the business flow. Thanks!

      Hi Marquita,

Thanks for the compliment! I think using images really helps to visualize concepts. The four concepts which represent the legs are not my idea, but conforming them to the table image helps convey the message. I appreciate you stopping by!

Hi Raena, I haven’t heard it put like a table before, but that makes a lot of sense. I think for some people starting out, realizing how much you actually have to do overwhelms them. I think that’s maybe why it’s easy to latch onto just one leg – although that can be overwhelming on it’s own, have no success, and then just give up without trying to bring in the other legs or reaching out for education or coaching. People sometimes seem to expect that you can do this as a very limited time hobby, not really understand anything, and expect to to be successful. Thanks for this informative post! – Rob

    Hey Raena

When someone decides to start their own business one of the things they need to know is what type of revenue can they generate.

Personally I like number 4 – Leveraged Residual Income 🙂

The best type of income you can achieve.

  7. Raena, you whetted my appetite to learn more! I’m going to have to check out the webinar. I could see you writing a series of posts for each type of income, and then listing some of the activities you work on for each type of income. It’d be a great set of posts, and perhaps a future e-book for you 🙂

    Raena,

This is great stuff. Product Creation is the key to creating a passive income and a more ideal lifestyle.

These four legs can all be used to create a dream life for those who practice it.

      Hi Dewane,

Thanks for stopping by! The key is to develop each leg into income streams which will lead to financial independence. Creating products is the way to go but we must also focus on the other three!

    Hi Raena,

I am very new to internet marketing, especially nowadays there’s so much emphasis on social medias like Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare etc. This four legs that you introduced as an analogy of a table is brilliant. It makes so much sense in a way, that without one of the leg, the whole table wouldn’t be stable anymore. For any business to succeed, all 4 is the core and is required.
Thanks for writing it so amazingly.

      Hi Chris,
Thanks for visiting my blog. Internet marketing isn’t an easy business. You have a learning curve you need to get through. When I first started, I thought all I had to do was promote a product as an affiliate and the income would come in. By this post you can see there is a lot more to it! Welcome and if there is anything I can help you with, let me know. I appreciate your kind commentary.
