The Prosperity Game Journal

Spread the love

This week I am participating in a game called The Prosperity Game Mastermind Partners.

You may have heard of it before. I’ve tried to play it by myself, but didn’t follow through. So I joined the Mastermind Partner Facebook group to give it another shot. The Prosperity Game is hosted by Dan Harr a fellow friend and awesome guy. The idea is to receive imaginary checks in your email box every day. The first check is for $250.00 and goes up from there. This post is the first week of my experience. As the game continues, my plan is to keep you updated. The rules are:

Go to The Prosperity Game Mastermind Partners Facebook  Page
and announce to the group
Where your money came from? and
How do you choose to allocate it?

Remember, assume your debts are paid…

$250.00

I received a $250.00 sales commission check for an online project I completed for someone. My first thought was to buy solo ads, but I’ve decided I’m going to take care of the things that are bothering me. So I will allocate this first check to one or two really solid high performing tires for my vehicle.

$500.00

I received a check today for $500.00 from an affiliate sale I made. I knew more money was coming so I bought one tire for $200.00, which left me $50.00. I could have settled for cheaper tires, but I wanted to get really good ones that will last for a long time! Now I have $550.00. I’ll pick up two more tires for $400.00 and re-invest The $150.00 to buy solo ads. I need to re-invest, but I want to take care of my personal expenses too. One more tire to go and I’ll be set to get through several snowy winters.

$1000.00

I received $1000 today! Woo Woo! $500 came from a graphics project I completed for a client and the other $500 came from one affiliate commission. I bought the last tire for my vehicle so now I have 4 rugged, beautiful tires. It looks like I might have to replace my vehicle to match the new tires! I’ve used $559 for Photoshop CS 6software program to add to my funnel and graphics business. The balance of $241 was used to start a solo re-investment pool for my listbuilding business. So far I don’t have any problem spending…no guilt whatsoever…LOL In fact, it has opened my mind to all the things I’m planning with what’s to come. Great exercise!

$2000.00

I received $2000 today for 2 commission sales at 1K each. All of my solo ad efforts are paying off. I’m putting aside $400.00 for advertising and $200.00 for an outsource project leaving $1400. I’m putting away $400.00 for savings and buying a new pair of glasses for $500.00. Now that I have my cool tires, my vehicle needs some work. Maintenance and detail $500.00.

I’m feeling a little torn between where I should spend. There are less loose ends than I thought. What I mean by that is sometimes in “poor talk” we convince ourselves, “only if I had such and such amount of money, then I will be able to take care of things that have been neglected or need to be replaced etc. and then I won’t have to worry about money.” I discovered that my goal with spending is only to reduce worry (that isn’t any fun).

I think this exercise helped me to realize how I think about money. Now that I’m making money, it isn’t taking very long to to get the loose ends out of the way. Once I do that, it will free me up to help other people and buy things for myself (not needed items like glasses). As I was deciding how to allocate the money, I discovered myself thinking what I can buy for my girls who are in college instead of myself. This is something to really think about. Why am I already finding it difficult to buy for me? That has to change!

$4000.00

I received $4000.00! I decided to check the link my friend sent me about unclaimed property and I received $3000 for unclaimed property and 1 affiliate sales commission for 1K!  The $4000.00 came just in time! I’m doing something I would normally not do but I’m putting everything aside to get to the Super Bowl to watch the San Francisco 49er’s and the Baltimore Ravens go for the win! No business….just HAVE FUN! It’s great that I have the money to cover last minute expenses. The ticket and flight to get  there is higher since it’s a spur of the moment decision. I have waited 10 years plus for the San Francisco 49er’s to make it to the Superbowl! They made it this year! New Orleans and Super Bowl XLVII…here I come!

It’s going to be a fantastic experience. My flight leaves tomorrow morning. I’m arriving in New Orleans around 6 p.m. so I’ll have time to get settled, see the sights, and have dinner. This will be my first trip to New Orleans. I’m curious about the French Quarter. I’m going to take a lot of pictures! The next day is the BIG GAME! I never imagined I would ever do something like this at the spur of the moment. It’s so exciting! Go NINERS!

Ticket $1500
Flight to New Orleans is $1598
Hotel $600
Food $200
Misc. trip expenses..shuttle, tips, extras $102

Today was an easy spend because of the timing of the game. I need to expand my thoughts about making bigger commissions more often and generating more money.

Next week I’ll share what happens next!

The Prosperity Game is an excellent way to expand your mindset about money and teaches you what you really feel about prosperity. The group helps with accountability and I’m learning a lot about my thought processes and other peoples views.

The Mastermind Partner Program will be having more plays of The Prosperity Game, so if you are interested in participating in a future game, connect with me. The Prosperity Game is free.

I hope you’ll consider contributing to the conversation by leaving a comment and sharing this post with your friends! In fact I’d love to connect with YOU! To follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, just click on my Social Media Icons on my sidebar 🙂

The Prosperity Game uses Wikipedia definition: Prosperity is the state of flourishing, thriving, good fortune and / or successful social status. Prosperity often encompasses wealth but also includes others factors which are independent of wealth to varying degrees, such as happiness and health.

What fun and what a way to learn Raena!

When we start our business, and money flows in, we don’t have a “plan” of what we are going to do with it. Here you put money back into your business, purchased the tires you needed, etc.

You have prioritized your income stream. I wonder if that would have happened if you actually made the money instead of the game? This game really makes one think of where our priorities lie.

Because I’ve been an entrepreneur for such a long time, I’m kind of used to it. I haven’t had a “pay check” in decades! In our own business there are ebbs and tides so we need to know how to effectively use our money.

For me, bills come first, then investments. I like to keep the money fluent and not put it in the bank! When there is extra cash in my hand I like to invest it properly.

This game is awesome and I highly suggest people getting in on this if they are not used to making their own money in their own business!

      Hi Donna,

Since I posted my first journal, the next level is outrageous! This game is helping me to find my threshold and push through. You can say one thing about generating money, but actually spending it, even imaginary is completely different. I am already experiencing a different outlook on abundance and what seemed like a lot of money when I started doesn’t seem so much anymore. Wow, I’m planning and buying all kinds of wonderful things for my friends and family, and I’m getting to the point now that I can make contributions. It’s always important to re-invest in my business. My next post will be an update. It’s a very exciting game and I’m taking it very seriously.

  2. Wow this is awesome Raena. But saying the words, and even writing it down isn’t enough for something like this – you not only have to REALLY believe it, you have to follow up that belief with action. That was my one issue with The Secret. So many people jumped on the bandwagon and got busy focusing their little hearts out on manifesting their dreams – but did squat as far as taking action. Knowing you, that is definitely NOT the case. I’m really looking forward to following your progress!

      Hi Marquita,

The purpose of the game is to find our thresholds and understanding of how we really feel about prosperity. It’s one thing to say I want to drive my dream car. In reality, what do you really do when you have the money to buy it? Do you really take action and purchase it because you feel you deserve it? Do you have a mind battle about guilt or whether you can upkeep the insurance payments or maintenance? Do you feel you are flaunting if you drive a luxury car? My point is, by keeping a journal and being held accountable by other game players, it has been a way to help me force money issues to the conscious level. Once awareness is reached, these issues can be resolved. Then I can experience true prosperity for myself and other people.

In my opinion, most people are generally good. Most people would serve if they are not in survival or selfish mode. It goes back to “You can’t help others until you help yourself.” Prosperity is when we can freely serve others or something much bigger than ourselves. This is the first part of the game and it is still easy and fun. Stay tuned when these issues start to surface!

    Hi Raena

Good on you for doing this and sharing your experience. I have been around many money games over the years working with speakers who taught wealth creation via various methods.

I agree with Marquita that games need to be followed up with real action. I also know you will do that. A game can teach us a lot about how we think and our beliefs. It is then up to us to play the game for real.

Thanks for a great post Raena. I look forward to hearing more.

      Hi Sue,

I’ve participated in many self development programs and I know you have too. I’ve found in most of programs, the subconscious is a major topic so our perspective of wealth, abundance, and making money are usually covered, but not dedicated to money issues. This is the first “money game” I’ve played in a group setting. As I mentioned in the post, I attempted this game on my own but for some reason, I didn’t follow through. Honestly, I don’t think I was ready at the time and I needed the accountability to succeed. This game is a way to broaden our thinking and finding out what we really believe about abundance and prosperity. At this time, I’m still playing and it is getting very interesting. I’ll keep you updated. Your comment is appreciated!

  4. I love that Raena!

Even though I have the priviledge to belong to the same mastermind group as you and know about this already, what a great idea to share this on your blog so your readers and anyone that the Universe may send this post, so they may take advantage of this information and get the money making mentality that they may be needing at that time.

What I love about this game is that it works pretty well on the subconscious mind where our money blueprint is located. The subconscious mind is that eternal blue print of everything we believe about life and beyond, and even though it’s very, very powerful since it basically leads our lives, it can also be tricked easily. This game is an example of that and that’s why it was conceived.

Great story girl, and I known you had fun!

      Hi Sylviane,

I love the way your present the scientific description of our money blueprint. You are an expert in how the subconscious mind works. Your statement is worth repeating. “The subconscious mind is that eternal blue print of everything we believe about life and beyond, and even though it’s very, very powerful since it basically leads our lives, it can also be tricked easily.” That’s scary when you think about it. With your definition, it proves that playing and winning the game is essential for success. When I read that statement, I feel like the game fixed my faulty money blueprint!

Yes, the game is fun, but there were times I felt “I want to get this over with” or “I don’t feel like doing this today.” It isn’t like the lottery and just receiving money and spending. In this game I had to tell where it came from and how I spent is. Overall I didn’t have trouble spending. Creating income was my struggle, for awhile. I cheated a little by pulling the inheritance card. I knew I could only do it once, otherwise it would defeat the purpose of the game. I appreciate your comments. See you soon!

    Hey Raena,

I’m so glad you explained to us the purpose of this because I’ve been invited to play before but not in a group setting. Like you, I would have blown it off and just not taken the time but when you report to a group then you’re more accountable and that’s what makes this interesting.

I totally get why this game is important because like you shared with us last night, it releases you when you know it’s coming in and all of a sudden for some people at least, all those “things” they thought were important no longer are.

I would love to play the next time they open it up so thank you for sharing this with us Raena and letting us know when it comes around the next time. I think this is really a cool game to play. I mean look how it expanded your thinking about money! Oh my goodness, we all need this.

Love this post and can’t wait to read the follow up to week two.

      Hi Adrienne,

You haven’t seen anything yet! I had no idea what I would discover when I started to play. At first it seemed like “a fun thing to do.” It is much more serious. In fact, after playing I can see why so many people hold themselves back for a number of reasons. Unfortunately it seems to always be tied to their real feelings about money, status, success, poverty…and the list goes on and on. All of these issues must be addressed. I always knew what prosperity was and I knew that is what I wanted, but when I actually went through the steps of receiving and spending, it helped me discover where I had thresholds and/or hesitations. When I responded by hesitation, for example, I knew I had an issue. I’ve always taken pride in the fact (I believed it was a fact) that I was not a “materialistic” person. I learned I had the wrong definition of what materialistic is! Here is the definition: Materialistic: Excessively concerned with physical comforts or the acquisition of material things rather than spiritual, intellectual, moral, or cultural values. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting nice surroundings, or a nice place to live, or a nice car. That was a landmark realization for me. I suppose at some point when I was growing up, I was taught that “wanting nice things” was bad or wrong, so I created my own label and called it being “materialistic.” This is one example of many of the realizations that I discovered by playing the game. Don’t be surprised by some of the decisions I made during the game…hint hint. The next round is in March..I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again for your great comment!

What an interesting game! I have not heard about this before but can certainly see the value in having those ‘possibility thoughts’ as you shared!

This is very much align with the ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ idea, isn’t it? Rather than focusing on ‘lack’, we shift our consciousness to ‘abundance’ and ‘prosperity’. All the energy and interaction around us changes from there, I believe!

    Great insights and sharing, Raena!

I look forward to knowing more about your fascinating Prosperity Journey!

      Hi Viola,

You described The Prosperity Game perfectly. “Rather than focusing on “lack”, we shift our consciousness to “abundance” and “prosperity.” All the energy and interaction around us changes from there, I believe!” Posting daily, and keeping a journal caused me to go through the mental forward motion of creating wealth and spending. This lead my mind to expand, stop hesitation, and open a path to prosperity. I discovered weird beliefs I didn’t know I had! We attract what we focus on and if we focus on lack, we stay in that inescapable loop of financial insecurity. This game proves how important personal development is for success. I appreciate your comments!

  7. Hi Raena,

This sounds terrific and I would like to know when the next round begins.

Interestingly, before I turn in for the night, I will begin playing “The Choosing Prosperity Game” today. It will be my first day at it. Since I have not yet played it, I am copying a description below:

“By writing checks, using your imagination, writing the memos, focusing as you write, and feeling no resistance as you write the checks because there will be no fear of overspending, you will achieve what is necessary in the achievement of anything: You will have made a statement of desire while you are in the state of non-resistance, or better said, in the state of allowing. So, not only will you have the benefit of an expanded imagination, but your point of attraction will shift, and your life experience will then shift as well. Not only will your financial situation improve, but all manner of things that you have focused upon with pleasure will begin to flow into your experience. Joyously playing this Prosperity Game will not only improve your financial state of being, but every aspect of your life will improve as well. It will not only help you to activate more vibrations around things you want, but it will assist you in focusing, more of the time, in a way that allows the things that you want to flow into your experience. Playing this game will cause you to offer a more expansive, expectant vibration. And it is our promise to you that manifestations will begin to arrive in response to your changed vibration”. — Abraham-Hicks in Ask and It is Given pages 177 – 181

      Hi Rachael,

The Prosperity Game I am in right now was derived from Abraham-Hicks Ask and it is Given. This description summarizes the possible benefits of playing the game. However, after playing, I have to add that you have to be committed and finish until the end. There are several versions and our Mastermind Partner Program members felt this would be a great exercise. Dan Harr is a friend of mine and a member and did an excellent job facilitating the game.

I mentioned in my post that I attempted to play on my own the first time and didn’t follow through. Having a support group to report to daily made all the difference. I’ve already experienced some real life changes in the way I perceive receiving and spending. It has had a tremendous impact on my perception. Another round is coming in March, so PM me on Facebook, and I’ll get you the details. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Raena,

Well done for coming up with all those possibilities, what a great idea!

In the Ask and it is Given book by Esther and Jerry Hicks there is an exercise similar to that where each day the money double and each day you are supposed to spend it.
When I tried it a few years ago I got ‘stuck’. Since then I realized through journalling and counseling why I got stuck.

Thank you so much for sharing this!

Posting daily is an important part of the game. The posting forces you to create where the money came from and how it is spent. This is a mind expanding experience for sure. Thanks Yorinda!

When I started the game, I knew I wanted to share it with my readers, but I didn’t know it will take 4 parts to post all of it. You said, “I need some work in this area.” I think a lot of us do. I think I would go out and spend all my money on a lottery ticket…lol JK. I do the same thing, but really put my money aside to fund new ventures. It’s all about moving up the ladder. When I started my business my goal was make $10 a week. Then 20 a week, and so on. Then when I looked back at it I realized it all started with week by week and I had a lot of money. True, I could have branched out more and more, but I didn’t. The lesson learned is always plan, dream, ect. Visualize what your going to do and act when you have achieve massive success. Don’t forget about taxes either, learned that lesson too…lol

Thanks for stopping by!

  11. Raena, this is a great resource! I recently read a post from Celestine Chua’s Personal Excellence blog about a Passive Income Resource she’s selling on her blog. Hi Steve,

If I knew then what I know now…you know the answer. When I got into this business, I didn’t know how important mindset plays in success or failure. I think most people are conditioned to believe untrue concepts about managing money. When the sums become larger, it gets more difficult if you have not learned that it is a strategy, not just a spending spree. A new game is starting in March, and I’ll be sure to let the people who are interested how they can participate. I’d love to see you in the next one!

  12. Sounds like a great game, Raena.

It really gives you an active role in your business at both a planning and operational level.

In psychotherapy, interventions like “role playing” and “drama therapy” serve to get you involved in working through real life situations from within the safety of a closed group. I think the recent trend toward, what I call “game therapy”, serves much of the same purpose, but is more tailored to virtual involvement.

In either case, the underlying strategy is to weave new thought patterns into your subconscious, so you can begin to live the roles you initially are only acting out. This is, of course, a strategy for etching new neuro-linkages into your brain, and insofar as it does, it literally changes your world.

Thanks for sharing this, Raena… and have fun with it!

      Hi David,

The whole idea of the game is to “weave new thought patterns into your subconscious.” You said it perfectly. The game has opened up a whole new set of possibilities for me. It has forced me to face the things that have held me back because of a conditioned belief system. I know there are different versions of the game, but they all come from Abraham Hicks as the source. What made it different for me this time is being able to play with a group of people and being accountable on a daily basis. You can see my progress with each new journal post. I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better! Thanks for stopping by.

  13. Interesting and supports everthing about imagination then visualization. This will manifest all that you believe to be in reality. This is a mind game that will strengthen your focus and develop your insight on things that will be vs doubt.

I believe in the end result with prosperity and the power you gain in your abilities to keep looking forward to a bright future.

Very well presented and something of great value being shared here!

      Hi William,

The Prosperity Game was remarkable for me. I went through a roller coaster mental exercise as I climbed each level. The game lasted for two weeks, and a lot of mental energy was used on a daily basis. It became more and more challenging, followed by many breakthroughs which occurred during the game. Each breakthrough helped propel to the next level and finally until reaching a paradigm shift. Since the game, some of the things which have manifested in my reality has been quite incredible. It expanded my perception of how I viewed prosperity and challenged me to get through mental barriers which were holding me back. I’m so glad I committed to it.

Prosperity is a subconscious state. One thing I learned is that a person can be prosperous with or without money. In other words, prosperity is not about the amount of money a person has or their net worth. It’s much deeper than that. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it.
